Lettering project ... easy as ABC

I thought I will start a new project to get my creative juices going. I saw a project by someone was doing, that they would draw one alphabet a week or day and thought "why not?"
Lettering is one thing I really love doing (but need practice!)

bible verse project

Recently I have been trying to make some of my artwork into things, like bags and postcards and now notebooks, each one was hand drawn. I think if I was to make note books it would be printed but these are just some personalised, one of a kind notebooks. (Limited editions haha)

New Project!

So I have decided to make some tote bags! I tried iron transfer paper but somehow it didn't work. I think I'll have to give it another go... so in the mean time its hand drawn with fabric marker.

who cares?

I have just been on a trip to Indonesia! It was great! Food was great! shopping and beaches were great! (weather was ...great... if you like floods)
Since I don't really like loooonnnnggg flights (even though this wasn't the longest flight ever) but 8 hours is a lonnggg time, especially if you are just sitting there.
So why not do something productive? (Next time I wont bring a inky fine liner because I think the air pressure on the plane make the pen leak!)

Currently these are some of my favourite verses which has given me comfort and encouragement.
"casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you" (1 Pet 5:7)

Who can you trust?

Sometimes you just have to remind yourself that you can't control your future and you won't know what will happen. So you should trust in God and see what life will bring :) "Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.."

Every time I read this verse I just think of this hymn that I learnt at True Jesus Church (TJC), Melbourne STTTC (short term theological training course) Good times! 

Its so easy to remember the verse if you learn it with a tune.

Well I've inked this but added some colour but once i scan it in instead of a photo it would work better. But I've been collecting some great lettering, typography inspiration and will post them soon. Some are international but others are from Melbourne Australia. I love finding Australian artists/designers/illustrators.

My wish list: Watercolour paper, brushes and ink. Silver or gold metallic ink. Re-decorate my room. Update my photo wall and add some other inspiration pics. Design books.

It seems that every time i blog (which is once in a while...) I seem to start with "haven't blogged for a while." But I guess a while is long enought to start blogging again.
I realised i never made that calander i was going to make, hmmm maybe a future project.
Anywho a verse i haven't yet drawn is Jer 29:13, and it reminds me of a hymn i learnt at Theo, "When you seek me"
Good times...

I think i will start drawing some more or doing something creative soon. :)

Haven't blogged for a while, anywho, finished an unfinished lettering ages that I started ages ago. This is my collection of pens, pencil, ink and my trusty eraser!

Seems like i haven't blogged for a while...
anywho since Masterchef is on TV its cooking season !! YAY I love cooking, (but not the washing up) and baking.

Since its Mother's Day this weekend why not make a card out of awesome cupcakes!! (well pictures of cupcakes)

Also it was a test batch of cupcakes that I need to bake for the church dedication which is on sunday too...
I think i need to make 50 or more if they are the small ones i made today. Oh well i guess we will see later on if i can make them all.

What can you learn from the ant?

I was bored one day... well not really bored but more like procrastinating/updating my design knowledge on the website DesignTAXI.

And I came across an article or post about a Russian photographer called Andrey Pavlov.

I loved the ant series and it reminded me of the verse:

wedding card

This is a wedding card I made using some leftover wedding wrapping paper and come card/paper for a friends wedding. I added some diamantes for the "i" and used some silver fabric paint to make the decorations at the corners. I still have to work on my esty page, not sure if i should sell some of my cards and hand drawn lettering, well if people need/want it i'll sell it :)
